Menri Stupa Temple
menri stupa temple
Menri Monastery will be complete when the three jewel aspects of body, speech, and mind of the Bon founder Tonpa Shenrab are represented. The main temple houses 1,000 compassionate buddha statues which represent the body of Buddha Tonpa Shenrab and the Tibetan Yungdrung bon Library which represents the speech of Buddha Tonpa Shenrab.
The Menri Stupa Temple will represent the mind of Buddha Tonpa Shenrab and will complete this triad. The temple will house 32 stupas for the first 32 abbots of Menri (the current Abbot of Menri is the 33rd) and 18 stupas for the eighteen abbots of Yeru Wensakha Monastery, which existed before Menri was founded in 1407.
This is an extremely important project that will complete and express the triad of body, speech, and mind of the Buddha Tonpa Shenrab. His Holiness Menri Trizin 33rd is dedicated to the completion of this temple as a fulfillment of his duty as the 33rd Abbot of Menri. Cost of project: Menri Stupa Temple: $87,000, 50 Stupas in copper and gold: $2,350.00 (Each); $117,500.00 For all

New Dormitory For Older Boys
New Dormitory For Older Boys
Because of increased population at the Bon Children's Welfare Center hostel, a small two-story dormitory is under construction to house older boys. The dormitory will have a modern communal bathroom, and each sleeping/study room will house four boys. Completion cost: $12,000
Viewing Gallery, Music Stage for Masked Dances, and Multipurpose Hall
Viewing Gallery
Year by year, the monastery attracts a growing number of visitors who come for various rituals and holidays. By far the most attended is Tibetan New Year and events connected with Losar. The Masked Dance Festival is the biggest event of the year and the courtyard in front of the temple where it is held will not accommodate the three thousand spectators who come. To provide additional seating space, an elevated viewing area holding 600 people is planned for the back of the courtyard. The project will also include a multi-purpose hall under the viewing gallery for training incoming monks in the Zhang Zhung language. Cost: $23,800
